Consultant Plastic Surgeon
I have been a Consultant Plastic Surgeon since 1992. I am a
Member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive &
Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) and a
Member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons
(BAAPS). I am also the President-Elect of BAAPS.
I have a busy private practice with both national and
international patients. I was trained in medicine at Bristol University Medical School
and I was awarded my medical degree in 1980 (MB ChB). My basic
surgical training was in Bristol and I passed my Fellowship of
the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in 1984. I then started my
training in Plastic Surgery during which I worked in Bristol,
Glasgow and in London, at Mount Vernon Hospital, a famous
Plastic Surgery Hospital on the north west of London, and at
Charing Cross Hospital. At the end of my training I spent time
as a visiting fellow in at the Sick Children's Hospital in
Toronto, Canada and I visited Plastic Surgery Units in Miami,
Detroit and New York.
I completed a Master's degree in Plastic Surgery (ChM) in
1993, and I was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of
Paediatrics and Child Health in 1997 (FRCPCH). I am an examiner
in the Intercollegiate Board Exam in Plastic Surgery, an
Advanced Trauma Life Support Instructor through which I have
been one of the medical officers to the British Grand Prix and I
am qualified as a paediatric life support provider. I am also a
Senior Lecturer in Surgery in University of Bristol and a
University Tutor.
I am a member of the Craniofacial Society of Great Britain
and of the American Cleft Lip and Palate Association.
My main NHS practice is in paediatric plastic surgery
particularly cleft lip, palate, related craniofacial
abnormalities, trunk and breast development problems. I run
general plastic surgery clinics in Bristol and Bath which
provide a heavy skin cancer workload.

COSMETIC SURGERY
I am fully trained in and accredited by the Royal College of
Surgeons of England to perform cosmetic surgery. I am on the
Specialist Register of the GMC as a Plastic Surgeon.
I have a busy private practice. I was trained in cosmetic
surgery in London, Bristol and Glasgow and I regularly attend
meetings on the subject. At consultation I will put the plus and
negative points of any treatment to you so that you can decide
in your own time if treatment is the right way forwards for you.
