Nose reshaping (rhinoplasty)
The nose reshaping (rhinoplasty) procedure
You need to ensure that you are free from any infection of the nose or throat on the day of surgery.
During a rhinoplasty, the height and shape of the nose are changed by operating through cuts made inside the nostrils.
You need to ensure that you are free from any infection of the nose or throat on the day of surgery. You will be in hospital for one night.
When you wake up after the surgery, you will have a plaster or splint on your nose, which is held onto your cheeks and forehead with sticking plaster. Although we try to avoid them, you may have packs inside your nose to help control swelling and bleeding. These will be removed before leaving hospital.
You will be seen one or two weeks after the operation, depending on what you have had done. At this follow-up appointment, the plaster or splint and any external stitches will be removed.
